Un sémaphore réstreint l'accès à une ressource limitée à un nombre limité d'instances. Les sémaphores diffèrent des mutexes dans le sens où il permet à plus d'une instance à accéder à une ressource en même temps, alors que le mutex ne permet qu'une seule instance à la fois.
