Guidelines for CDROM/Multimedia Authors ======================================= Walnut Creek CDROM is looking for CDROM and Multimedia authors. If you have a really cool idea for a CDROM product then I want to hear from you. What you need to be a CDROM author: 1. A lot of hard disk space. 2. Technical expertise in the subject matter. What you will NOT need: 1. A lot of money. 2. Technical expertise about CDROMs or CDROM publishing. I am willing to consider almost anything, but I am especially interested in original ideas. I already have some ideas for titles that I do not have the expertise or time to do. Other areas that are popular are educational titles and discs of technical information. Collections of images are also very popular. I am not interested in doing anything of an "adult" nature that I would have to hide when my mom comes to visit. Money: I will pay for the mastering and replication of the discs, production of printed material, advertising, and promotion. I will also do the formating and one-off production. You will receive a royalty based on the gross revenue of the sales. This is very similar to the finacial deal for authoring a book. Here is how the process works: 1. Send me your proposal. 2. If it looks like a good idea, we discuss it and negotiate a contract. 3. You collect the data, develop the applications, etc. 4. You write everything out to tape and send it to me. 5. I format the data, and make a one-off CDROM, which I mail back to you. 6. You test the disc, and make any changes necessary. 7. When everything is ready, I send the disc off for replication. 8. I place some ads, and do some press releases. 9. We kick back and watch the bucks roll in. Please email your proposal to discdev@cdrom.com, or you can print it on paper and mail it to Walnut Creek CDROM Attn: Disc Development 1547 Palos Verdes Mall, Suite 260 Walnut Creek, CA 94596 All proposals will be considered confidential.
