Backbone Internal/External - Description

<Back

This graph shows IP traffic seen flowing by network connection. IP addresses belonging to your network (as determined by the LOCAL_NET variable in the ipaudit.cfg file) are considered internal (local). All others are considered eternal (remote).

The line marked External shows the bandwidth used by packets with both external source and external destination addresses. Normally such data might be caused by multicast traffic. If a local host is sending data with a spoofed exiternal source address it may show up as external traffic depending on the traffic volume.

The line marked Internal shouws through-put of packets with both ip addresses internal to your network.

The traffic is sampled over 30 minute intervals.
